About Happy Camper Pizza

Happy Camper came to have a damn good time. If you ask us, there's not a better combination of pizza, booze and vibes than what you'll get at one of our spots.

Happy Camper Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 1209 N Wells St, Chicago, IL 60610, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–12 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Happy Camper Pizza at (312) 344-1634; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, happycamperchicago.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 4,153 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in Chicago.

Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Best spot in Old Town! We usually come here for the pizza, but decided to switch it up this time. We ordered the tuna poke bowl and Caesar wrap, and of course we couldn’t pass up the JalapeΓ±o Homies for an appetizer. The tuna poke bowl had great flavor, but not an entree I would order again. The Caesar wrap was really goodβ€”the crunch was great, the kale was a nice addition, and there was a generous amount of chicken. The only downside this visit was the service, which wasn’t quite as good as it has been on previous visits. Our waitress didn’t check on us as often, and there was a bit of a mix-up with the timing of our food. We ordered our entrees about 10–15 minutes after the appetizer, but somehow the entrees came out before the appetizer. Still a great spot overall, and we’ll definitely be back. Hopefully the service is back to its usual level next time!

Public parking garage is next door and super convenient. Our server was amazing! She worked with the chef to prepare something special to accommodate my friend with many allergies. Fun vibe. Kids only allowed with parents. As a parent who still wants to feel like we're "out", everyone was happy. The appetizer servings were large and the food was delicious.

Great spot to watch the World Cup and other sports. Good size TV screens all over the place. The food was very good too. I highly recc their Linda full crust pizza. Vegetarian and delicious. Same for the Cali salad. Best of all was the service. The young lady who served us was friendly, professional and super attentive. She got all the small details right and was available anytime we needed anything. If nice weather, they have a small seating area outside on the sidewalk.

Don’t even think, just order the potato skins. They are oven fried and stuffed with pulled pork and I literally want them every day for the rest of my life. Then I got the Linda pizza on a GF crust and allergy precautions were taken since I have celiac disease. All food came out flagged, servers were knowledgeable and the crust was INCREDIBLE. I’m a thick crust girl. I wish the world made GF stuffed crust but alas. This crust was perfect beyond perfect (unless you prefer thin crust to which I say buh bye πŸ˜…) Don’t sleep on this place, go enjoy some Chicago pizza.

SO happy I stopped here!!! Staying in a nearby hotel for work. Atmosphere is great, TVs showing a good selection of current sports. I was thinking pizza, but a burger is so hard to decline! Yuengling on tap. Haley my server strongly suggested the classic burger (her favorite), and I decided to try it. Amazing. Beef was excellent, and the cheese...so much cheese!!! It made for a great dinner on a cold day. Haley was very kind and attentive! Highly recommend this place and definitely ask for Haley if she's working!
